Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

Megan is the big 1-4 today.

***********************************************************

I am NOT an organized person by nature.  In fact, I’m pretty sure after dealing with two kids who have diagnosed A.D.D., that I have a mild form of it myself.  My son’s behavior mirrors my own to a great extent, so putting two and two together….

That’s why I am so excited about the organizer I bought today.  It’s called Amy Knapp’s Family Organizer.  It has weekly and monthly planning grids, inspirational quotes (I need all the inspiration I can get), weekly menu and grocery planning with perforated list.  It also has stickers to flag birthdays, vacations, payday, anniversaries, school holidays, medical appointments and more.  There is a 2008 planning calendar, room for notes, a budget planner, an info sheet for baby-sitters, a page for info on your children’s activities,  one for your activities, a section for addresses, and one for web addresses and logins.  There’s even a section of tips to help you get the most out of the organizer.

Man, I am going to be sooooo organized and things around here are going to go so smoothly you’ll be calling me Ex-lax.emoticon

  2. Happy Birthday to your baby, The Big 14!

I love a new organizer/planner, too. I hope you are able to use it longer than I usually do, I always last about a month.

  3. ChesneyGirl, happy to amuse…though I can’t take credit. “Smooth move, Ex-lax” is a saying the kids around here used to use back in the 70s-80s. And yes, Megan’s having a party. On August 4. She wanted a big family party this year and that’s the only time I can get everyone together.

Sarah, I am bound and determined to use it to keep things straight. I am notorious for forgetting things and I’m really tired of it.

  5. Happy Boithday to the 14er; nice new blog with a foot on a banana peel; combine that with Ex-Lax and you’re in for a really messy landing ;-)

  7. I love those organizers but fail to use them the way they should be used. I am wondering if my five year old has ADD and will be checking out websites to find out more about it. I do not think he has a severe case, but I am his mother and think he is perfect. -lorisminute

  8. Good luck with the organizer. I started every year with one of those but it never helped because my nature is disorganized. I even look disorganized. I married a wonderful lady who is no more organized. Good luck I hope you make it then I might try again. I also hads with ADD.

  9. I too, have ADD and one daughter with it. This sounds like a great organizer. Also, may I recommend a label maker…file fun for the whole family and easier to read than my scribbles. Happy birthday to your daughter, Megan, isn’t it fun to raise a teenaged girl (ha!)…Have a great day.

  10. Hi Stacy, It’s just me, Mark, over at Big Scary Unknown popping into to say thank you so very much for leaving a comment on my blog today. You don’t know how much it meant today to have all those comments. It was a definite lift for me.

I have to say I always have the best of intentions when it comes to organisation, I do my lists, budgets, chores etc but I always find something to distract me but then I don’t have kids to deal with too. You’re a stronger person than I am, big respect coming your way.

  11. Welcome, Mark! Glad you enjoyed all the visits today. I got the same treatment back in June. It’s a hoot. Feel free to stop by any time. New friends are always welcome.

Don’t give me too much credit for organization yet. I don’t work through the summer, so it’s not too tough right now. Check on me in Sept.
