Batten down the hatches! Trim the main sail! Thar’ she blows!
Aside from feeling a bit pirate-y this evening, I’m trying to make a point. IT’S FRIGGIN’ WINDY HERE, PEOPLE! We live in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains and something about the topography seems to guarantee an abundance of wind. In other words, it’s nearly always breezy here. But there are days like today (quite a few actually) when the wind sounds like a speeding freight train streaking endlessly past the house, around the house, over the house and behind the house. Anything in it’s path weighing slightly less than a pregnant hippopotamus is relocated a minimum of three yards away…..if it’s ever seen again at all. 40 to 50 mph winds are nothing. It’s just a little breezy. Talk to me when the gusts approach 100 mph. We’ve had a couple of storms like that. I admit, those were scary. Anything that causes the walls in your house to move is scary.
Other than the wind, it’s been a quiet day. I went to work, but didn’t do much otherwise. I’m feeling better from the cold I had over the weekend, but I can’t shake the cough. Megan stayed home. I found her on the couch when I got home from the morning run. She said she was sick to her stomach. I don’t know. We’re having a lot of problems with her and school. Academically, that is. Socially, she’s doing better than fine. I have to get a prescription filled so she can try yet another new A.D.D. drug. Maybe this one will help.
If you don’t hear anything from me in the next few days, I’m……..

I am just beginning to have problems with Liv wanting to stay home from school. I don’t get it. She does well in school, but once in awhile, she fakes. I KNOW she is faking, but I am not 100% sure, so I let her stay home usually. I worry that if I send her to school, she’ll start puking and say, “But, my mother said that I HAD to go to school!”
Hope she is better soon. Glad you are doing better. Hold on tight to something. We get wind here too….ugh.

Unnerstand the wind thang; we get what they refer to as “Chinook” winds here. On occasions, gust at and over 100mph do a fair job of relocating everything not nailed down, and warping some things that were…and sorta still are.

It’s been windy here too!
I’ve always been terrified of high winds….when I was growing up we had alot of trees in our yard and everytime we’d get high winds we lose one…one time one even caused a fire in our yard!

It’s been really windy around these parts too, Matey! I didn’t know what the hell was up until I looked over at the neighbors, and they got this huge thing. No wonder it’s so friggin’ windy.
